Chocolate Cake by Margaret Norris
1. Grease and line an 8-9inch/21cm cake tin.
2. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
3. Stir gently to begin with until all combined then beat for 2 minutes with electric whisk.
3. Put into cake tin and spread the top level.
4. Bake in the centre of the oven for 1 hour on 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 5. Leave in tin for 5 minutes to cool and then turn out.
5. Melt chocolate bar and knob of Lurpak® in the microwave or in a heatproof bowl over hot water. Spread over cake top. Cool and enjoy!
Ingredients
- 5oz (125g) self-raising flour
- 6oz (150g) Lurpak® spreadable
- 6oz (150g) caster sugar
- 30z (75g) drinking chocolate powder
- 3 large free range eggs
- 3 tablespoons ( 60ml ) boiling water
- For the top:
- 8oz (200g) good quality milk chocolate
- Knob of Lurpak® spreadable
