Sirloin Steak with Lime, Mint & Chilli Butter by Lurpak

1. Beat the Lurpak® until it’s soft then add the garlic, chilli, lime and mint and continue to beat. It may take a minute or two to incorporate the lime juice but beat hard and it will go.
2. Transfer the Lurpak® onto a sheet of cling film and shape it into a sausage. Roll it up in the cling film and twist the ends until tight and secure, before placing in the freezer to firm up.
3. While the Lurpak® is setting, season the steaks on both sides. Then, heat up a griddle or frying pan to medium high and cook the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side. More if you like them well done.
4. Once cooked transfer to a warm plate. Cut a thick disk of the butter and pop it on top of the steak to melt while it rests for a minute or two. Serve with a side of your favourite veg.

Ingredients

  • 150g Lurpak® Slightly Saltedat room temperature
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 red chilli, seeds removed, finely chopped
  • Juice & zest of 1 lime
  • Leaves from 4 sprigs of mint, finely chopped
  • 2 sirloin steaks
